A surf camp with us is not a fixed programme with a start date and a group of strangers. It is the parts of a surf trip to Siargao that we already do, put together for your group for as many days as you have: lessons or guiding every day, a board that is yours for the whole stay, a room a few minutes from the boardwalk, and a scooter to get around. You tell us your dates, your level and how many of you there are; we send back an itemised plan and a price. There is no published camp rate because no two groups want the same thing.

What goes into a package

Surfing every day. For beginners, a daily two-hour lesson at Jacking Horse following the same structure as our beginner lessons, with the same instructor across the week so the coaching builds on itself. For surfers who already ride green waves, we swap lessons for surf guiding: dawn drop-offs at Cloud 9, Tuason on the right swell, a boat day to Stimpy's or Rock Island and a trip to Pacifico if the forecast agrees. Mixed groups get both, running side by side.

A board for the whole stay. You keep a board from our rental fleet for the duration, so you can surf on your own between lessons when the tide is right. We start you on a soft-top or longboard and move you down in size as you improve.

A room in General Luna. Our rooms are a few minutes from the Cloud 9 boardwalk and from the shop, which is what makes the dawn sessions painless. You can see them on Airbnb. If they are booked on your dates, we know the neighbourhood and will help you find something close.

A motorbike. A scooter with a surf rack from our motorbike rental turns the island into your backyard: free surfs at the right tide, the north coast road, the lagoons and rock pools on flat days, dinner in town without waiting for a tricycle. We can fit the rack before you arrive.

Pick-up for lessons. Even with a bike, we collect you for every lesson and guiding session and bring you back, so nobody has to ride at five in the morning with a board on the side.

What a week looks like

This is a typical shape for a mixed group of beginners and intermediates in season; your week will differ with the tide and the forecast.

  • Day 1. Arrival, room check-in, board fitting at the shop, and a short evening walk on the boardwalk to look at the waves you will be surfing tomorrow.
  • Days 2 to 4. Morning lessons at Jacking Horse for the beginners; dawn guiding for the intermediates. Afternoons free: island hopping, the lagoons, a nap.
  • Day 5. Flat-day plan or a north-coast trip to Pacifico, depending on the swell. A change of scenery helps more than a fifth identical lesson.
  • Days 6 to 7. Beginners move onto smaller boards and start catching unbroken waves; intermediates take a boat day if the period is long enough. Video review on the shop screen on the last evening.

Longer stays follow the same pattern with more free surfing and less instruction as the week goes on. Our Siargao island guide covers the things to do when you are not in the water.

When to come

The southwest monsoon from roughly late May to October gives offshore mornings and the most consistent swell, with the peak from August to November. From November to March the swell is bigger and windier and the guiding side of a camp gets more interesting, while beginners still learn fine on sheltered days. Between 31 October and 10 November 2026 the Cloud 9 main peak is closed for the Philippines Pro; a camp during that window means watching the world's best from the rebuilt boardwalk in the afternoon and surfing other spots in the morning.

Tip: Tell us your flight times before you fix the package. Sayak Airport (IAO) arrivals can land midday, and a lesson on the same afternoon rarely goes well. Start surfing the next morning and use arrival day for the board fitting and a look at the reef from the tower.

What is not included

Flights, the ferry or van from the airport, meals and personal spending are on you. We are honest about what is in the quote and what is not, and everything we offer is listed line by line so you can drop what you do not need. If you already have a room, we build the package without one; if you do not want a bike, we leave it out.

How to book

Frequently asked questions

How much does a surf camp cost?

There is no set camp price because every package is built for the group: how many days, how many lessons, which room, whether you want a bike. Message us on WhatsApp with your dates and group size and we will send an itemised quote.

How long should a surf camp be?

Three days is the minimum where lessons start to add up; a week is where most people see real progress. Some guests stay a month and move from lessons to guiding halfway through.

Do I have to be a beginner?

No. For beginners the camp is built around daily lessons at Jacking Horse. For intermediate and advanced surfers we replace lessons with guiding: dawn sessions, boat trips and video feedback.

Where do I stay?

In our rooms in General Luna, a few minutes from the Cloud 9 boardwalk and our shop. You can see them on our rooms page and on Airbnb. If they are full on your dates we help you find something nearby.

Is a motorbike really necessary?

Not for lessons, since we pick you up. But a scooter with a surf rack changes the trip: free surfs when the tide is right, the north coast, the lagoons and the island's restaurants are all suddenly close.

Can a mixed-level group book together?

Yes, and it is common: one person learning, another already surfing. We run lessons and guiding side by side at the same spot or at different ones and bring the group back together for the rest of the day.

Ready to get in the water?

Free pick-up from your hotel anywhere in General Luna is included.
